Microsoft® Response Point™ is complete phone system software designed specifically for small businesses with 1-50 employees. In the past, deploying an advanced phone system to a small business was considered impractical. Intended for large businesses, most phone systems in today’s market are expensive, arcane, and require a dedicated IT staff.

Response Point provides a welcome alternative with advanced phone system software that is easy to deploy, use, and manage. The user-friendly Administrator software empowers an average computer user to set up a phone or make system changes in minutes. The unique voice-activated user interface helps connect employees and customers instantly with the people and information they need.

Hardware and Software

Response Point is a simplified, streamlined phone system. Its basic elements are hardware (the base unit, phones and devises) and software (Assistant, which runs on each user’s PC, and Administrator, which runs on the system administrator’s PC).

System Hardware
A typical Response Point phone system contains three pieces of hardware:

Phones:  Phones are specially designed to work with Response Point. They are a key reason why Response Point is easy to install, use, and manage.
Base Unit:  This device is the heart of the phone system. Think of it as the “server” or “base station” of Response Point.
Gateway Devices (Optional):  These devices connect Response Point to the phone system, whether analog (PSTN) or digital services such as T1 or PRI. Some manufacturers combine the analog gateway with the base unit; some provide a separate device.

System Software
Response Point contains two software applications:

Response Point Administrator: The program the phone system administrator uses to
configure, manage, and monitor Response Point.

Response Point Assistant:  The desktop software that employees use to configure personal settings, check voice mail, enable caller alerts, and more.

Simple to Manage
Microsoft Response Point is easy to set up and maintain so you won't be bogged down with confusing manuals or in-depth training. Response Point's user-friendly management console makes it a snap for the average PC user to set up a new phone, change preferences for voicemail or call handling, or create a call distribution list. As your business grows, your Response Point system grows with you. You can easily add new phones as you hire new employees. And if you move offices, just pick up your phone system and take it along.

Simple to Use
Say goodbye to confusing key strokes and phone programming — Just press the Response Point button and tell the phone system what you want to do. Reach anyone in the company directory or your Microsoft Outlook address book by simply saying their name. Transfer, park, and retrieve calls the same way too. Voicemail features allow you to retrieve, forward, and archive messages from your phone or your e-mail.

Simple to Buy
Response Point phone systems will come complete with a base unit, voicemail, software and desktop phones. You can use as many features as you like and add phones or extensions without paying additional licensing fees.
